Long overdue, just happened to notice this collection yesterday. As a long-time patient of Dr. Mercer, I echo and confirm basically everything in the other reviews: Dr Mercer is professional, highly skilled, extremely compassionate to less comfortable patients like myself, and has gone far beyond what I think most dental patients expect in terms of nature and quality of care. From the first time he worked on my troubled teeth, over two decades ago, I have always been 100% satisfied with the nature and quality of care, and especially Dr. Mercer’s capacity to both listen carefully and authentically, and explain treatment options in a clear and accurate way. Additionally, I feel very comfortable adding that in my long experience as a patient at this practice, I have been uniformly and consistently impressed by every technician, hygienist, receptionist, and business manager. The entire office, I believe, is entirely reflective of Dr. Mercer’s skill, integrity, kindness, and professionalism. Highly and unequivocally recommended.

Am a long-time patient, and love everything about Dr. Mercer and Mehran's work. i moved away from the Portland area years ago, but unless PDX shuts down, I'll always be scheduling trips back for checkups and Mehran's great cleaning work.

What a great experience! Recently I had couple very awful visits with my previous dentist so I came here for a second opinion. I found Dr. Mercer via my dental insurance recommendation. Because of past experiences, I was stressed about this appointment. I was dreading it, and when I checked in I was literally vibrating with anxiety. Dr. Mercer calmly talked me through everything that he was going to do, he kept reassuring me that things were looking good and going well. His chair-side demeanor completely shut down my anxiety and stress. His numbing technique was also totally painless (something I didn’t know was possible). I had no idea that dental work/procedures didn’t have to be so difficult, painful, and expensive. Also, I should mention that he saved me a couple thousand dollars in unnecessary work that my previous dentist was adamant that I needed. It’s been years since I felt this comfortable with my smile and it feels so good to finally have everything properly taken care of.

I have been a patient of Dr Richard Mercer for many years. He and his staff go out of their way to provide excellent care. Always considerate, courteous, and gentle. When I broke a tooth, Dr. Mercer personally walked with me over to his favorite oral surgeon to get immediate attention . Dr Mercer had a beautiful tooth crafted to exactly replace the one I lost, painstakingly matching the color to the surrounding teeth. It’s hard to say enough good things about his practice. Mehran, the dental hygienist who has taken care of me for many years, is the most thorough and gentle hygienist I have ever had.
From making an appointment through the examination, cleaning and treatment to paying my bill, Dr Mercer and his practice have always exceeded my expectations.

I had an appt for cleaning and a filling. Gideon did a great job cleaning. For the filling this is the first time I did not feel a needle during application of the anesthetic. I highly recommend Dr. Mercer and his staff.
